Thailand visa for Seychellois 2026: 15 days visa-free
Seychellois passport holders do not need a visa for short tourist or business trips to Thailand. Since 15 September 2026, you can stay visa-free for up to 15 days on arrival, a shorter allowance than the 60 days granted before that date.

What changed for Seychellois on 15 September 2026
Until 14 September 2026, Seychellois travelling to Thailand were allowed to stay visa-free for 60 days. A Ministry of Interior regulation, published in the Royal Gazette on 31 August 2026 and effective from 15 September 2026, placed the Seychellois passport in a new tier shared with only one other country, cutting the visa-free allowance to 15 days. If you are planning a trip, this means you now have far less time to complete a holiday or business visit without applying for a visa beforehand. Anyone who previously relied on the longer stamp to cover an extended stay, a working holiday, or a multi-stop itinerary around Thailand should now plan around the shorter 15-day limit, or look into a visa arranged before departure.
Before you fly
- Check that your Seychellois passport has at least six months of validity remaining from your arrival date, and that it still has at least one blank page for the entry stamp.
- Carry proof of onward or return travel and be ready to show evidence of funds, since immigration officers can ask for 20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB for a family.
- File the Digital Arrival Card within 72 hours before you land, using the Immigration Bureau's free online form, and keep the QR code ready to show at the checkpoint.
- If your plans need more than 15 days, apply for an e-Visa at thaievisa.go.th before you leave Seychelles, since processing usually takes three to ten working days.
Staying longer than 15 days
The 15-day visa-free stamp for Seychellois cannot be extended at an immigration office, so any longer trip has to be arranged before you travel. An e-Visa gives a single entry of 60 days, and can be extended once by 30 days at an immigration office for 1,900 THB. If you are coming to work remotely or study a long course, the Destination Thailand Visa covers five years with stays of up to 180 days per entry, provided you can show 500,000 THB in funds. Leaving Thailand and re-entering by land to reset the clock is not a workable option either, since Seychellois passport holders are limited to two visa-free land crossings per calendar year, though arriving by air is not capped in the same way.
At the airport
At Suvarnabhumi, Seychellois are not among the nationalities allowed to use the automated e-gates, so you will need to queue at the Foreign Passport counters for manual checking. An immigration officer will look at your passport and check the QR code from your Digital Arrival Card, which is scanned alongside your travel document. Since Seychellois passport holders are outside the auto-gate list, allow extra time for this counter, especially if your flight lands alongside several others.
